Jenny Starr Everson, 66 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Dumas. Rev. John Sanders, pastor of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Jenny was born on November 21, 1945 in Memphis, Texas to Darrell and Genevieve McCool Johnson. She graduated from Dumas High School. She had been a resident of the Dumas community for almost sixty years. Jenny was united in marriage to Jimmy Everson on June 1, 1974 in Dumas. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she actively served.
Jenny was a beloved and devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a secretary until her retirement. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, and she loved her fellow choir members. She had a kind and loving nature, and was loved by all who knew her. Throughout her illness, even when she was feeling the worst, she always had a sense of humor. The more you knew her, the more you liked her. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Johnson, and one son, Stephen French.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Jimmy of the home three daughters, Stephane Lee and husband Patrick of Amarillo, Cheryl Sands and husband Kelly of Texhoma, and Kim Feemster and husband Ricke of Kim, CO one son, Jim Owen Everson and wife Angie of Stratford eight grandchildren, Heath Starnes of Dodge City, KS, Brandon Starnes of Amarillo, Justin Starnes of Amarillo, Ashton Feemster of Kim, CO, Candice Lee of Amarillo, Alexa Feemster of Kim, CO, Macy Everson of Stratford, and Erica Lee of Amarillo her mother, Genevive Allen of Dumas one brother, Darrell Johnson of Yukon, OK three great grandchildren and numerous other extended family members.
The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 395, Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will be at 806 Hastings in Dumas.
