Jeremy Joe Rivera, 26, of Winter Park, Colo, formerly of Dumas, was called home to the mountain top of all mountain tops on October 15, 2009 in Mae On, Thailand. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jori Buchenau of Grace Thru Faith Fellowship officiating, assisted by Greg Canada of Amarillo. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Jeremy was born October 6, 1983 in Borger, Texas to Joe and Yetta Rivera. He was a graduate of Dumas High School in 2002 and attended WTAMU. Jerm will be remembered by his infectious smile and his passion for life a life of abundance. His strong work ethic was the same whether working or playing. He loved to play his guitar and sing, changing the lyrics to all the songs to fit the occasion. Jeremy was a very special young man and he will never be forgotten. He has touched many lives and many will always remember him when they hear a song or hear funny things he would say. They will always see that beautiful smile of his and hear his silly laugh. It was very important to him to stay in touch with his friends and family. He made everyone feel special. He would give you the shirt off his back but he would also mooch. Jerm was proud of our family and it didnt matter where he was or who he was with he always ended our conversations with I love you He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elidia Rivera in 2008. Survivors include; his mom and dad, Joe and Yetta Rivera; his beloved sister, Sheila and beloved nephew, Jeremiah all of Dumas; Grandfather, Joe V. Rivera of Amarillo; grandparents, Eldon and Polly Stone of Muskogee, Okla; Uncle Albert Rivera and wife Janice of Amarillo; Aunt Cindy Rivera Vallejo and husband Victor of Amarillo; Aunt Becky Rivera of Dumas; Aunt Tracy Stone Gallagher and husband Freddy of Baton Rouge, LA; Uncle Mark Stone of San Antonio and 11 cousins. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to First Baptist Church for allowing the use of the church; for being the body of Christ. Romans 12:4-5. The family suggests memorials be to Grace Thru Faith Fellowship, Awakening Generations Bldg. Fund, PO Box 452, Dumas, Tx. 79029. The family will be at 124 Chelsea in Dumas.
