Jerry Wayne Cooper

Jerry W. Cooper, 64, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas with Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Jerry was born on September 3, 1946 in Fresno, California to Eli Sam and Margaret Meadows Cooper. Jerry has been a member of the Dumas community for 63 years. He was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Jerry was a resident of Memorial Nursing and Rehab. He insisted on helping all nursing home residents. He said it was his job to help all of his fellow residents. He will be missed by all of his friends there. His hobbies included puzzles, coloring, and watching movies. His favorite pastimes included watching John Wayne westerns and the Dallas Cowboy football games. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Darline Charter. Survivors include: two sisters, Myrtle Jean Cooper, and Mary Dillard of Dumas one brother, Sammy Cooper of Dumas and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Nursing and Rehab, 302 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029.
