Jerry Wayne Eads, 80 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020. A graveside service is scheduled for 11 oclock in the morning on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Dumas Cemetery with Pastor Damon Akins officiating and Justin Wehunt assisting. Viewing will be from 8 oclock in the morning until 8 oclock in the evening on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Jerry was born on May 3, 1940 to Pete and Jamie (Anthony) Eads in Levelland, TX. The family moved to Dumas when Jerry was very young where he grew up and attended school. Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 until 1962 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He married Barbara Little on October 2, 1964 in Dumas, TX. Jerry retired from Phillips Petroleum as a field supervisor. He enjoyed sports, especially youth sports. Jerry also loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their activities. Jerry was a very kind, gentle man and was very proud of his military service; he had just recently gone on the Honor Flight in 2019. Jerry attended First Assembly of God Church in Dumas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jimmy and brother, Jimmie.
Jerry is survived by his wife; Barbara Eads of the home; grandchildren: Jake, Jordyn, Jessika, Holton, and Taylon; great-grandson: Oliver; daughter-in-law: LaRita Eads of Dumas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends who Jerry loved deeply.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests with gratitude that memorials be made to the First Assembly of God Church.
