Jerry Floyd

Jerry Floyd, 61, formerly of Dumas, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 22, at Temple Baptist Church, in Dumas, with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM in Panhandle Cemetery at Panhandle by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Jerry Floyd was born December 9, 1948 in Durant, Oklahoma to Chock and Lawana Floyd. On February 14, 2004 he married Leslie Pruitt in Las Vegas, Nev. He loved to cook, music, golf, camping, cookoffs, the Food Network and Oklahoma University. He loved his family and would talk to them daily. Jerry had been a resident of Amarillo for 10 years and was a member of Southwest Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Leslie of the home his parents, Chock and Lawana Floyd of Dumas daughter, Holly Floyd and Chad Ellis of North Richland Hills stepsons, Bryan Crowell of Austin, Sean Crowell and wife, Amy of Groom, Evan Crowell of Rockville, MA, Heath Chisholm of Houston stepdaughters, Lauren Hodges and husband Chris of Amarillo, Brandi Eqiziothus and husband Chris of Chicago, IL sister, Linda Kay Janow and husband Jim of Dumas brother, John Floyd and wife, Jan of Dumas 7 grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will be at 204 Melinda Lane in Dumas.
