Jerry Lee Raper, 65, of Fritch, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Elder Vicki Morgan/Tobias officiating. Cremation will follow the service. A family visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 5 oclock until 7 oclock in the evening at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Jerry was born March 2, 1955 in Dumas to T.C. and Wanna Beth (Srader) Raper. He attended Dumas schools and graduated in 1974. He would meet and marry Barbara Green in 1975 and two children were born to this union. In 1992 through life's transitions, Jerry met Judy Reed and they would have 28 wonderful years together. They lived in Fritch where Jerry worked in the oil and gas field as a lease operator.
He was a devoted father and grandfather and loved spending time with his friends and family. Jerry spent most of his free time either riding his Harley or building and working on cars. He would always find time to help his fellow neighbors in need. He was deeply loved by family and all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Judy of the home: sister; Vickie Morgan/Tobias and husband Toby of Amarillo: brother; Tommy Raper of Dumas: daughter; Heather Cook and husband Russell of Bastrop, TX: son; Dustin Raper and wife Amanda of Fritch: and grandchildren; Jason Cook of Bastrop and Haley, Stetson, and Bristol Raper all of Fritch. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
