Jessie Lou McCubbin

Jessie Lou McCubbin, 84, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 in Dumas, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 22, 2009 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Channing Cemetery, Channing, Texas, with her son Rev. James Hisel officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Jessie Lou McCubbin was born February 7, 1925 in Texline, Texas to William and Gertrude Starkey. She excelled in school and graduated as an LVN nurse. In 1942 she married William Bill Hisel. He preceded her in death. She married Robert Mac McCubbin and they had many happy years together before he preceded her in death. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1942 and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Jessie Lou was a devoted wife, mother and Mimi. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandy Cariker and sister Rosie May Rash. Survivors include; daughters, Billy Jean Crawford and Trudy Lynn Geoff both of Carlsbad, NM; son, Rev. James Hisel and wife, Jeri of Sandia; sister, BarbaraBobbie Henry and husband, George of Dumas; brother, W.A. Starkey and wife, Jennifer of Sebring, FL; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous other family members and many friends. The family suggest memorials be to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 633, Dumas, Tx. 79029. The family will be at 140 Cherry in Dumas.
