Jewel Busbee, 97 of Dumas, passed away on May 20, 2018. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, May 25, 2018 at First Street Church with Chauncey Spencer officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Jewel was born in Erath County in Texas on January 7, 1921 to Kelsey and Nannie Jones. On June 8, 1941, she married Robert 'Bob' Busbee at Polytechnic Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas, where they lived for 19 years. After that, they lived in Chicago, Illinois, for 12 years. St. Joseph, Missouri, for 3 years, Grand Island, Nebraska, for 8 years, and Dumas, Texas from 1979 until now. They were married 54 years.
Jewel attended cosmetology school and was a creative hair stylist. In addition, she was a busy homemaker, a gourmet cook, an avid gardener, and a skilled seamstress. She was a faithful member of 1st Street Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by: Robert 'Bob' Busbee, her husband of 54 years; her two brothers: Nathan and Rayford Jones; and her four sisters: Hazel Mason, Virgie Cordua, Lola Peavy, and Eunice Lagna.
Jewel is survived by her children: Robert 'Bob' and wife Lynda of Dumas, Texas and Donna Hannah and husband Gary of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren: David Hannah and wife Sharon of San Antonio, TX, Christopher Busbee and wife Purdy of Banks, Oregon, Michael Busbee and wife Jiang Jiang of Seoul, South Korea, Rebecca Hannah of Kingston, Tennessee, and Bradley Hannah and fianc Agatha Bernal of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren: Alyssa Hannah of San Antonio, Texas, Brent Hannah of San Antonio, Texas, Cooper Busbee of Seoul, South Korea, Ellia Busbee of Seoul, South Korea, and Aubrey Busbee of Banks, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
