Jimmie Jackson Harris

Jim Harris, 74, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas. Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of the church will be officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Jim was born on April 17, 1937 in Gruver, Texas to I. L. and Leona Harris. He attended school in Gruver and graduated from Gruver High School. Jim married Rebecca Jackson on February 8, 1975 in Spearman, Texas. They shared their life together in Las Vegas, Nevada for ten to fifteen years, and then in Dumas for the last five years. Jim served his country in the US Army. He was later employed as a truck driver. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas. Jim was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bill Harris, Carroll Harris and Jerrell Harris. Jim is survived by his wife Rebecca of the home two sons, Jimmie Jackson Harris II and Justin Wayne Harris, both of Kountze, Texas one daughter, Janna Leah Williams of West Lake village, California one stepdaughter, Rhonda Bothmann of New Zealand one stepson, Link Kropff of Midland and ten grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 900 Braden in Dumas.
