Jimmie Earl Smith, 65 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o\x92 clock in the morning on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Jimmie was born on August 9, 1949 to Earl Randall and Lou Ella (Stafford) Smith in Mangum, OK. He was a technical school graduate and lived in Liberal for over 20 years. For the last 21 years he had been a resident of Dumas and married Debbie Randall on July 20, 1974 in Skellytown. Jimmie enjoyed being around his family but especially his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Jimmie is survived by his wife: Debbie of the home; two daughters: Christi Newby and husband Don, Stacy Smith all of Dumas; one son: James Smith and wife Tiffany of Dumas; grandchildren: Tyrell, Cody and Nathan Eastep, Natalie and Finley Smith, Chancee Robinett, Karessa and Andy Newby all of Dumas, Miranda Newby of Amarillo, Kristin Newby of Ohio, and Jeanie Newby of Florida; great grandchild: Jaylynn Nickels of Ohio; two sisters: Carla Gilcrest and husband Cecil of Tuttle, OK and Debbie Smith of Borger; one brother: Joe Smith and wife Lisa of Borger. The family suggest memorials be to American Diabetes Association, PO BOX 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. The family will be at 623 Bailey.
