Jimmy Carnes 64 of Amarillo, formerly of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 2, 2008 at Morrison Memorial Chapel , Dumas, Texas, with Rev. Richard Dickerson, pastor of Bykota Baptist Church, Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Jimmy Carnes was born December 27, 1943 in Dumas, Texas to Arthur and Gertrude Carnes. He grew up in Cactus and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1979. He was a retired plant operator. He loved animals and enjoyed wild flowers. Jimmy attended Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include; sister, Peggy Jean Hill of Amarillo; brothers, Ronald Lee Carnes and wife Patsy of Amarillo, Terry Don Carnes of Tacoma, WA; Brother-in-law, Bud Miller of San Antonio; Sisters-in-law, Mary Carnes of Amarillo and Terry Carnes of Los Angeles, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial may be made to the Amarillo Humane Society, PO Box 30102, Amarillo, TX. 79120.
