Jimmy Don DeLeon, 39, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Axel Chavez of Big Spring, TX.and Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church officiating, assisted by Rev. Jesus Rivera, pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista and Rev. Ricky Pfeil, pastor of Kingdom Keys Church. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Jimmy Don DeLeon was born January 19, 1970 in Friona, Texas. He was a graduate of Dumas High School with the class of 1989. He attended Devry Institute receiving his degree in business operations in 1992. He had been a resident of Dumas most of his life. Growing up in Dumas he attended First Baptist Church, then moved to Amarillo and went to Kingdom Keys Church.
He was preceded in death by his grand- parents Ruben and Bertha DeLeon and grandfather, Marcos Madrid Sr.
Survivors include; his parents, Maria and Jesus Garcia of Dumas; father, Jimmy Madrid of Odessa; sisters, Jessica Garcia and husband, Armando of Dumas, Angelica Garcia and husband, Xavier, America Torres and husband, Danny all of Amarillo; grandmother, Maricela Madrid of Odessa; half-sisters, Maxine Madrid of San Angelo and Destiny Madrid of Amarillo; half-brother, James Madrid of Odessa; 7 nieces and 4 nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family suggests memorials be to Primera Iglesia, 801 Miller, Dumas, TX 79029.
