Jimmy "Jim" Dillard, 80 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 2 oclock in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Watson, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6 oclock until 8 oclock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home.
Jim was born on October 24, 1940 in Littlefield, TX to J.T. and Cleta Francis (Griffith) Dillard. The family moved to Dumas where Jim graduated with the class of 1960. Jim worked in construction, for Colorado Interstate Gas and eventually as a prison guard at various locations in the panhandle and Huntsville. Jim loved his family more than anything and also enjoyed to hunt, fish and enjoy the beauty of nature that was created by our Savior God Almighty. Jim was also an avid supporter of the Dumas Demons and Demonettes. He was united in marriage to Mary Cooper on March 12, 1966 in Dumas, TX and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary of the home; children: Jimmy Dillard and wife Lollie of Borger, TX, Robert Dillard of Dumas, TX and Deborah Skinner and husband Ronny of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Jason Dillard, Braden Dillard and wife Carolina, Candice Dillard, Brenna Lindsay and husband James and Becca Baker and husband Dylan; great grandchildren: Melody, Michael, Matthew and Gracelynn; brother: Delbert Dillard and wife Carla of Amarillo; niece: Melissa Lasley and husband Dubs; nephew: Thomas Dillard and wife Jamie.
