Jo Murray

Jo Murray, 94 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022.  Graveside services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Sharalyn Larsen officiating.  Services are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Jo was born on September 25, 1927, in Velma, OK to Eldy and Mary (Romine) Sain.  She married J.L. “Jay” Murray on August 22, 1945, in Waurika, OK; the couple moved to Dumas in 1946 where they raised their children and made their home.  After raising her children, Jo became a nurse and worked at Moore County Hospital for over 20 years.  Jo was an avid gardener and enjoyed quilting.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fritch.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husband “Jay” on March 27, 1994 and two sisters: Geneva Godwin and Jean Seeds.

Jo is survived by her children: John Murray and wife Debbie of Georgetown, TX and Shirley Harvey and husband Sam of Fritch, TX; grandchildren: Deana Benge, John Murray, David Harvey, Becca Dooley and Jason Watson; along with 12 great grandchildren.
