Joan Schuman Spivey

Joan Schuman Spivey 76 passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Dumas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2008 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Garden of Hope, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Joan was born January 19, 1932 in Temple, Oklahoma to Maurice and Viola Norman. Joan had been a longtime Dumas resident. She married Dale Schuman who preceded her in death in 1981. She then married Richard Spivey who preceded her in death in 1995. She was co-operator of Richard Spivey Showrooms in The World Trade Center for many years. Joan then returned to Dumas three years ago. She was preceded in death by her son Robby Schuman. Survivors include; son, Pete Schuman and wife, Debra of Sunray; brothers, Thomas Norman and wife, Sue of Fredericksburg, TX and John Norman and wife, Glenda of Dumas; step-daughter, Penny Livingstone and husband, Jerry of Grapevine; step-son John Spivey of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, August and Dale Schuman, and James Livingstone; great-grandson, Jackson Livingstone. Family visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 6:00 thru 8:00 PM at Morrison Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 415 W. 8 th, Suite 300, Amarillo, TX 79101.
