JoAnn Lindsey, 80, formerly of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 23, at First United Methodist Church, Dumas, with Rev. John H. Sanders, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 23, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.
JoAnn Lindsey was born October 13, 1929 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Augustus and Jewel Tudor. She graduated from East Central State with a BA degree and from Texas Womens University with a Masters Degree. On November 10, 1950 she married Jack Lindsey in Ada, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death June 4, 1989. She was a teacher and librarian for many years in the Dumas Schools before her retirement. She was a very giving person. She volunteered at the nursing homes in Dumas and the Window on the Plains Museum. JoAnn had been a resident of Dumas since 1948 before moving to Amarillo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dale and Bob Tudor.
Survivors include her son, Kent Lindsey and wife, Wanda of Georgetown, IN her daughter, Cindy Hampton and husband, Joe of Amarillo granddaughters, Kristen Mull and husband, David of Sellersburg, IN, Julie Lindsey of Indianapolis, IN grandsons, Coury, Cole and Callie Hampton of Amarillo greatgrandson, Jack Mull of Sellersburg, IN.
