Joanna Marie Ovalle

Joanna Marie Ovalle-Garcia, 60 of Dumas passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. A Rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock in the evening on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 o’clock in the morning at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez, celebrant. A Private Family burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Joanna was born on September 30, 1964, in Springer, NM to Antonio “Tony” and Efinita (Gallegos) Garcia. She grew up in Dumas where she attended school. Joanna was very caring and was an excellent caretaker for her mother and brother. She was also an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. 

Joanna was an avid George Strait, Kane Brown, and Cody Johnson fan. She loved to country dance and watch her daughter Jennifer model. Joanna always made sure everything was nice and clean and in the perfect spot. She always knew how to make everything look so good. Joanna was the BEST at ironing clothes. She lived to iron her brothers’ shirts and her clothes; the family always knew who to ask. Joanna was a beautiful lady inside and out. She always lit up a room when she walked in. Wherever she went she always made new friends or would see old friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Garcia; brother: John Garcia; sister: Cecilia Garcia.

Joanna is survived by her daughters: Cecilia Xuereb of Albuquerque, NM, Jennifer Bryant and husband Chad of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Angelo, Corbin, and Journey; mother: Efinita Garcia; siblings: Larry Garcia of Dumas, TX, Dorothy Harkrider and husband Larry of The Colony, TX, Anthony Garcia and wife Amy of Dumas, TX, Theresa Reed of Arkansas City, KS; along with numerous nieces and nephews; fur babies: Kya and Lexie; grandfur babies: JoJo and Koda.
