John Alan Dobbins, 43 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Friday, December 18, 2020 at First Street Church with Pastor Josh Randol officiating. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 oclock until 7 oclock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. John was born on May 4, 1977 in Amarillo, TX to Johnny and Cindy (Burchfield) Dobbins. When John was 8 years old, the family moved to Dumas where John attended school and graduated from Dumas High School in 1995. After high school, John became a firefighter and a paramedic serving in Perryton, TX where he met and married Heather. The couple moved to Kerrville and eventually back to Dumas where they made their home and raised their two daughters. John had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid fan of the Amarillo Bulls hockey team. He was a season ticket holder and got to know several of the players on the team, would take them to dinner and treat them as family. He enjoyed woodworking, Texas Music and loved everything about America, especially the flag. John was also a very talented golfer and won the City Championship. John had a very giving heart and would always be willing to offer a helping hand or a meal to anyone in need. John was known amongst his friends and family as quite the character who always had everyone laughing. John loved animals and enjoyed riding his Harley. John was preceded in death by his brother: Paul Dobbins in 2009. John is survived by his wife, Heather of the home; daughters: Harlee and Jazlyn also of the home; parents: Johnny Dobbins and wife Cindy of Dumas, TX; father and mother in law: Kelly and Diane Belt of Perryton, TX; sister in law: Sheree Dobbins and her children, Peyton, Trevor and Kesleigh of Amarillo, TX; sister in law: Lacey Roberts, husband Ben and their children, Blake and Abigail of Idaho Falls, ID; brother in law: Rick Gray of Perryton, TX and numerous other extended family members.
