John Edward (Ed) Moore, 95, of Stratford, TX, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Stratford with internment following at the Boise City, OK Cemetery.Ed was born in Ramah, CO, on June 6, 1926 to George T. and Eva A (Kendall) Moore. He grew up in the farming community of Simla, CO where he worked on the family farm with his parents and siblings. Ed met the love of his life, Edith Margie Bauer, when she moved to Simla to teach school. Ed and Marge were married on July 27, 1950 in Boise City, OK. They were married for 65 years before she passed away on January 1, 2016. Ed and Marge lived in Simla, CO, and Boise City, OK, before moving to Stratford in 1959 to build Moore Implement Co., a Massey-Ferguson/GMC dealership. Ed was active in his community, serving on the city council, volunteer fire department, and police department. He was a charter member of the Stratford Country Club and enjoyed playing golf with his friends, children, and grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Marge; sons: Robert Eugene, William Clifford (Bill), and Bruce Edward; brothers: Cledys, Thelmer, Kirk, Delbert, and Ronnie; sisters: Georgie, June, and Lucille; daughter-in-law: Toby Moore; son-in-law: Fred Potter; and grandson: Trenton Fred Potter. He is survived by his son: Roger Moore and wife Marjeanne of Amarillo, TX; his daughter: Beth Potter of Gainesville, TX ; sister: Verna Bell Huscher of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren: Monica Bryant and husband Bruce of Canadian, TX, Kendell Moore and wife Mandie of Lubbock, TX, Trisha Jenkins and husband Jake of Dripping Springs, TX, Cliff Moore of Ponder, TX, Cody Moore and wife Kristen of Monroe, NY, Craig Moore and wife Ashton of Ponder, TX: great grandchildren: Bailey Bryant, Ben Bryant, Carlos Moore, Brighton Moore, Rhettlie Moore, A llie Jenkins, Bentley Moore, Cooper Moore, Avery Moore, Corden Moore, Claetyn Moore; great-great grandchild: Bostyn Moore and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
