John Joseph Scannell

John Joseph Scannell, 66 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022.  Services will be held at a later date.  Cremation is under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

John was born on July 17, 1956, in Houston, TX to John and Evelyn (Sutherland) Scannell.  He had worked as an electrician all his life.  John’s favorite hobby was fishing.  He was a very friendly person and quickly became a friend to any and every person or animal he met.  He was also very strong in his faith and prayed daily for his friends and family.  John loved his children and his grandchildren even more.  He attended First Street Church and will be missed.

John is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Susan Scannell; his sister-in-law: Julie Scannell; and his nephew: John Corbet.

John is survived by his children: Jason Goolsby and wife Melissa of La Porte, TX, Terina Meusling and husband Branden of Amarillo, TX and Tara Henderson and husband Christopher of Dumas, TX; his brother: David Scannell of Lake Jackson, TX; his grandchildren: Olivia Guajardo and husband Nathan Blackwell, Raina Goolsby, Evelyn Guajardo, Ryan Goolsby, Carmen Guajardo, Emma Henderson, Charlie Meusling and Lily Henderson.
