John Milton West

John Milton West, 95, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 17, 2010, at First Christian Church in Dumas. Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of the church will be officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Milton was born on March 27, 1915 to John Robert J R and Buna Kay Tompkins West in Fisher County, Texas. He married Edna Aliene Briscoe on October 7, 1939 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Milton was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy in the North Atlantic. He was a member of Lovington Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Scottish Right Mason. He retired from Southern Union Gas in 1980. Survivors include his wife, Edna of Dumas two sons, Johnny West and wife Jeanette of Dumas and Gary West of Las Cruces, NM two grandsons, Dr. Jack West and wife Kasey of Leander, TX, and Jonathan West and wife Nina of Grand Junction, CO. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dumas Memorial Hospital and Memorial Hospice. A special thanks to Dr. Opara and Dr. Miguel for their care and service.
