Johnnie Lucille Morton, 76 of Sunray, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Sunray Baptist Church with Rev. Andrew Martin, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Johnnie was born February 16, 1940 in Fort Sumner, NM to Thomas and Mora (Purves) Robinett. She was a member of the community since 1957 and worked for the City of Sunray for over 25 years as the office manager. Johnnie was united in marriage to Leon Cripps on November 16, 1957 in Sunray; he preceded her in death in 1997. She later married Grady Morton.
Johnnie loved quilting, crossword puzzles, and reading. She was member of Sunray Baptist Church, Xi Omega Zeta Chapter, Red Hat Society, and several committees. Johnnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her first husband, Leon, she is preceded in death by her daughter: Kelly Cripps.
Johnnie is survived by her husband Grady; daughter: Pam Cripps Haskin and husband Jeff of Sulphur Springs; son: Stephen A. Cripps and wife Missy of Sunray; brother: Tom Robinett of Sunray; sister: Maxine Thrasher of Dumas; and grandchildren: Ashley, Buck, and Jake.
