Jose S Mireles

Jose S. Mireles, 76 of Sunray, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Brown Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. A Rosary will be recited Friday December 4 at 7 o'clock in the evening at Christ the King Catholic Church in Sunray. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Jose was born on July 10, 1939, in Dalhart, TX to Joaquin and Rosa (Ramirez) Mireles. He had been a resident of Sunray for the past 43 years. On June 7, 1958, he was united in marriage to Delia Valdez in Dalhart. Jose worked for Rock Island for 20 years then Diamond Shamrock for 30 years. Jose enjoyed fishing, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and will be missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather: Pedro Rojas, Sr.; brother: Richard Mireles; and sisters: Mary Ortez and Gloria Martinez. Jose is survived by his wife Delia of the home: sons: Joaquin Mireles of Amarillo, Ralph Mireles and wife Beverley of Gruver, Charles Mireles and wife Kim of Dallas, Steve Mireles and wife Tamra of Dumas and Mark Ward of Amarillo; daughters: Elizabeth Mireles, Monica Dodson and husband Scotty all of Sunray. Sisters: Petra Luera of San Bernadino, CA, Dora Griego of Dalhart, Susan Kline of San Bernadino, CA, Christine Watkins of Stinnett, Carmela Montoya of Pampa, Anita Faulkner of Amarillo, Janie Rojas of Stinnett; brothers: Peter Rojas, Jr. and Benny Rojas both of Amarillo, Larry Rojas of Austin, and Ross Rojas of Amarillo; twenty grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Texas Oncology, 1000 S Coulter, Amarillo, TX 79106 or Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 807 Ave J Sunray Texas.
