Joyce Othon, 85 of Dumas passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Joye Watson, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Joyce was born on September 15, 1938 in Collinwood Township, MN to Leonard and Mildred (Fallen) Haglund. She grew up in Minnesota then moved to Cactus in 1973 where she raised her family.  Joyce drove a feed truck for Stratford Feeders, and later worked at American Beef Packing House then ran O. B.’s Bar for several years.  She worked very hard to provide for her children.  

Joyce loved growing flowers and plants and could make anything grow. She enjoyed visiting and never met a stranger. In her spare time, she loved to knit and cook. She was known for her burritos and beef jerky. Joyce was of Catholic faith and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents: son: Bobby Wackler; daughter: Jackie Garcia.

Joyce is survived by children: Kathy Roland, Shelly Watkins, Doug Wackler and wife Deletta all of Dumas, TX, Brenda Tiger of Seminole, OK, and Dennis Wackler and wife Eva of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Lucia Estrada, Kyle Moore and wife Casey, Michael Wackler and wife Sammi, Ruben Garcia, Amber Watkins and Dezi Hisel, Baylie Evans and husband A.J., Emma Wackler and fiancé Larry Phelan, Elizabeth Griffis and husband Chris, Kamree Wackler, Sydnee Wackler, Caiden Wackler, Benjamin Wackler; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
