Joyce Lynn Pool, 90 formerly of Dumas, passed away Saturday morning November 7, 2020. A private family burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at 1 oclock in the afternoon at Morrison Memorial Chapel on Thursday, November 12, 2020 with David Malone, pastor of Legacy Rehabilitation and Living Center in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors.
Joyce was born near Frederick, OK, April 1, 1930 to Ernest and Thelma (Fleming) Kinder. She was raised in Moore County and graduated from Dumas High School in 1947. She married J C Pool July 22, 1949 in Dumas where they began raising their 5 children, he preceded her in death in 1964. She later married James Farr, who also preceded her in death. Joyce was a homemaker, avid crafter and enjoyed cross stitching and baking. She retired from JC Pennys department store in Amarillo. She loved the color red, and enjoyed spending time with her dachshund Sally, before Sallys passing. Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother to her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands: JC Pool and James Farr; and three sons: Johnny, Tommy and Billy Pool.
Joyce is survived by her daughter: Patty Akins and husband Bob of Amarillo, TX; son: Mike Pool and wife Karen of Pittsboro, NC; sister: Betty Beck of Dumas, TX; sister in law: Beverly Pool of Odessa, TX; brother in law: Kenneth Pool of Frederick, OK; grandchildren: Micha Stewart, Jeremy Pool, Jennifer Osborn, Toby Nielsen, David Pool, Janine Doucette, Leah Pool, Danny Pool all from Canada, Michael Pool, Josh Bryson of Texas, James LaNouail of California, and Thomas Pool of WA. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family suggests with gratitude that in lieu of flowers; memorials be made to an animal rescue group.
