Juanita Elizabeth Shaha, 89, formerly of Dumas, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 in Burleson, Texas. Services are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. on Monday, December 19, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Dumas. Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. on Monday at First Baptist Church, prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Juanita was born on September 10, 1922 in Goodwell, Oklahoma to John and Lula Beck. She was united in marriage to Everett Shaha on September 21, 1941. He preceded her in death. Juanita was a beloved and devoted homemaker, and she loved taking care of her family. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1950, until recently moving to Burleson to be near family. Juanita was a member of the Eastern Star and of First Baptist Church in Dumas. She was a talented lady. She painted several paintings, which her family proudly displays in their homes.
Juanita is survived by two sons, William E. Shaha and wife Susan of Burleson, and James D. Shaha and wife Dianne of Gainesville one daughter, Betty M. Spann and husband Dale of Bellevue, WA five grandchildren and twelve greatgrandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 500, Fort Worth, TX 76107, or to a favorite charity.
