Julia Albear Martinez, 82 formerly of Stratford, died Monday, July 15, 2019. The rosary will be recited at 6 oclock in the evening on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 oclock in the morning on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Stratford. Burial will follow in the Stratford Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors.
Julia was born to Sixto and Rafaela Albear on April 12, 1937 in Millersview, Texas and later married Ramon Pena Martinez on November 26, 1960. In her younger years, Julia enjoyed reading, sewing, listening to music, dancing, and crocheting.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Pena Martinez, one child who died at birth, and one grandson, Adam Miguel Flores, four brothers, Felix Albiar, Jesus Albear, Mario Albear, Jose Albear, and three sisters Juanita Medrano, Tomasa Medrano, Cristina Albear, and Marieta Albear.
Julia is survived by four sisters: Isidra Pat Carpenter, Maria Molina, Ernestina Villarreal, and Irene Estrada; three brothers: Alfonso Albear, Canuto Albear, and George Albear; four children: Velma Martinez (Dago) of Liberal, KS, Ramona McClintock (Kevin) of Redmond, WA, Julian Martinez of Liberal, KS, and Amy Martinez-Flores (Luis) of Woodward, OK; grandchildren: Thomas Ramon Martinez (Deborah), Rene Marcus Vasquez, Victoria Flores, Trish Flores, Emilia Flores, Luisa Flores, Luis Flores, Jr., and Nicaela Flores and Andrea Martinez-Smith (J.T.); great grandchildren: Serena Elise Martinez and Natalie Shay Martinez, and Logan Nash Smith.
