Julieta Garza

Julieta Gloria Garza, 86 of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Victor Hugo Andrade celebrating. Interment will follow in Stratford Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Monday at the church. Julieta was born on October 26, 1934, in Laredo, TX to Maximiliano and Maria Medellin Cortez. She was united in marriage to Eloy Garza on June 20, 1954, in Laredo and the couple would eventually move to Stratford in 1969. Julieta had worked at JBS and had also farmed. Julieta loved going to the casinos and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eloy in 1998, sons: Jerry Garza and Ricardo Garza. Julieta is survived by her sister, Janie Rowley; her children: Sara Garza, Maria Moreno, Eloy Garza Jr. and wife Marina, Johnny Garza and wife Silvia, Irma Spurlock and husband Dru, Lupe Garza, Tina Garcia and husband Ricardo and Tino Garza and wife Janet; 29 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
