Kaitlyn Grace De Leon

Kaitlyn Grace 'Rainbow' De Leon, 10 years old, of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018. A prayer service will be held at 6 o'clock in the evening on Monday, August 13, 2018, at Iglesia Bautista Hispana. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Kaitlyn was born on August 22, 2007 in Amarillo, TX to Omer and Minerva (Sanchez) De Leon. She attended school at Morningside Elementary and Dumas Intermediate School. Kaitlyn loved playing sports, especially softball. She also enjoyed fishing, camping and would try anything once. Her favorite sports teams were the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Cowboys; she had the opportunity to go to Dallas and California to meet both teams. She had recently been sworn in as an honorary police officer of the Cactus Police Department. She had a great love for her dogs, Maui, Kobe and her newest puppy Rocky. Above all, she had a great love for her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She would play the drums at her church and loved to praise the Lord. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dario Sanchez and her sister Abigail. She is survived by her parents, Omer and Minerva De Leon, of the home; sister: Laisha De Leon, of the home; grandparents: Manuel De Leon and wife Gracie of Corpus Christi, TX, and Ninfa Sanchez of Presidio, TX; aunts and uncles: Milva and husband Luis Montoya of Kermit, TX, Mirna and husband Eduardo Alanis of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Erika and husband Cris Colegio, Nacogdoches, TX, Manuel De Leon Jr. and wife Donna of Corpus Christi, TX, Alex De Leon and wife Donna of League City, TX, Monica De Leon and husband Richard, Orlando De Leon and wife Jessica, Arnold De Leon and wife Amanda, Jason De Leon, all of Corpus Christi, TX. Kaitlyn requests that everyone please wear bright colors to help celebrate her life.
