Karen Ruth Clark Stephany, 55, of Sunray, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Lane Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening on Thursday at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Sunray. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Karen was born on April 11, 1962 in Dumas, TX to Roger and Maxie (Tidwell) Clark. She grew up in Sunray and graduated from Sunray High School. She later attended Amarillo College and received her associates degree. Karen was united in marriage to Peter Stephany on December 24, 1994 in Sunray, TX. To this marriage two children were born; the couple later divorced. Karen loved arts and crafts; she was very good at needlepoint and cross stitch. She was very active in sports while in high school and still holds the Sunray High School record for the hurdles. Karen was known for her great personality and had recently moved back to Sunray with her mother, whom she had a very close relationship with.
She was preceded in death by her father; daughters: Miranda Clark and Samantha May; brother: Tony Clark.
Karen is survived by her mother, Maxie Clark, of the home; children: Peter Timothy Stephany Jr and Erin Bailey Stephany, both of Altoona, FL; brother Curtis Clark and wife Tereasa of Edmond, OK; numerous other extended family members.
