Kathryn Lou Hamilton

July 8, 1932 — January 6, 2023

Kathryn Lou Hamilton, 90 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023.  Graveside services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Billy Jack McCallie officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Kathryn was born on July 8, 1932, in Weeltka, OK to George and Maggie McCallie where she grew up.  She was united in marriage to Gerald Mac Junior Hamilton on July 8, 1950, in Clayton, NM. The couple made Dumas their home and is where they raised their children.  Kathryn was an excellent homemaker who took great care of her family.  She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent seamstress, making her granddaughters their easter dresses.  She also loved a good practical joke and pranked her family and friends all the time.  Her greatest joy was that of being a grandmother, she adored her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings: Bill McCallie, Suela Prather, Agnes Garner, Pete McCallie, John Henry McCallie, Dale McCallie, and Jimmie Don McCallie.

Kathryn is survived by her children: Judy Greer and husband Butch of Amarillo, TX and Bill Hamilton and wife Sharon of Winsboro, TX; grandchildren: Tammy Marnell and husband Kirk of Canyon, TX, Jennifer Valdez and husband Trini of Amarillo, TX and Zane Hamilton and wife Tonya of Plano, TX; great grandchildren: Jayton Marnell and wife Ryann, Brayden Marnell, Brylee Marnell, Taylor Hamilton, Noah Valdez, Bennet Graham and husband Lex and Jonathan Valdez; great grandchildren: Tommie Jay Marnell and Wyatt Graham along with numerous other extended family members.

The family suggests with gratitude that memorials be made to Gentiva Hospice, 3232 Hobbs Ave, Suite A, Amarillo TX 79109.
