Kay Cotney

Kay Cotney, 65 of Amarillo, formerly of Stratford passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the First Methodist Church in Stratford. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home in Stratford.  Interment will follow in the Stratford Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. 

Kay was born to Darrell and Mary Lou Cotney in Dumas, TX on March 2, 1958. Kay went to work for Pantex and retired after working for over 41 years. She was an avid Casino slot player and was the luckiest person, she always won. She loved gardening and always kept the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood. Kay was one of the most generous people we have ever known. 

Kay is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Nelson Williams of the home; mother, Mary Lou Cotney of Stratford, TX; brother: Kevin of Amarillo, TX; sister: Kim Loerwald and husband Donnie of Phoenix, AZ; niece: Jordan Garday and husband Adam along with their sons: Cannon, Brecken, and Laken all of Phoenix, AZ; nephew: Dax Loerwald and wife Angie and their children: Jaxon and Presley all of Albuquerque, NM; aunt Rogene Garoutte along with numerous cousins and neighbors. She loved life.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest, with gratitude, memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 381.
