Kelsey Wayne Garrison

July 26, 1985 — January 25, 2020

Kelsey Wayne Garrison, 34 of Dumas, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 at two o clock in the afternoon at First Street Church in Dumas to honor and celebrate Kelseys life with pastor Matt Matzke officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Channing Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Kelsey, a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, was born on July 26, 1985 in Amarillo, Texas to Jed and Kelly Garrison. He was raised in Channing, Texas, where he graduated high school, during which time he competed in the state high jump competition, cross country, basketball, and rodeo. Kelsey had a natural athletic ability that was most apparent in his passionate love for calf roping. Kelsey was awarded a rodeo scholarship to South Plains College and went on to rope at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, where he graduated college. Kelsey continued roping calves into adulthood on the pro circuit, where he made many dear friends and memories. Rodeo was his truest passion. Kelsey was a true Texan who lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Kelsey proudly owned and operated KGMS, a custom harvest business. He also managed his own cow-calf operation. He took great pride in his work and always gave his absolute best effort in all his endeavors. On June 17, 2017, Kelsey married the love of his life, Brooklynde Parks in Breckenridge, Texas. The couple made a loving home, first in Canyon, Texas, and later moved to Dumas, Texas. The two found their happiest days in each other's love and comfort, and were always up for the next adventure. On December 8, 2019, Kelsey was baptized at his home church, First Street Church in Dumas, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. Kelsey is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Red and Lorene Garrison and his maternal grandfather, Willaird Moore. Kelsey is fondly remembered by his loving wife, Brooklynde Garrison of Dumas, Texas; parents, Jed and Kelly Garrison of Channing, Texas; sister, Haley Garrison and nephew Y.C. of Sunray, Texas; grandmother, Janis Moore of Pampa, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Rhone and Kipi parks of Breckenridge, Texas; sister-in-law, BriElle Cawley along with husband Scott and children CharLotte and Riley of Breckenridge, Texas; and countless other family members and dear friends. Kelseys generosity, humility, and zest for life touched so many hearts in his time on Earth. In lieu of flowers, Kelseys loved ones ask that friends and family keep his giving spirit alive through donations to his charity of choice, St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
