Ken Orson Schneider, 72, of Spearman passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021.
Ken was born September 14, 1949 in Perryton, Texas to Oscar and Josephine Schneider.
He married Joann Schneider on February 21, 1987. Ken owned and operated Schneider Welding for over 40 years before retiring. While operating Schneider Welding, Ken hired and taught his son, his youngest daughter, and many young men how to weld, work hard, and do things right the first time. His son, Schane, took over the business so another “perfect job” will continue.
During retirement, he took up golf again. He replaced work with a daily round of golf and friendly betting with his “old men” group. In order to spend time with him, his family also learned to love golf. Every family vacation was a golfing vacation. Besides the love he had for his family and golf, hog hunting was at the top of the list. If he wasn’t golfing, he was heading down to the ranch to get rid of his “hog fever.” In the past, you could find him at the drag racing track. In 1989, he was the Liberal Track Champion in super gas.
Ken is survived by his wife, Joann, three children, Brandi Schneider of Amarillo, Schane Schneider and wife Dana of Spearman, Kendall Snead and husband Robbie of Spearman, seven grandchildren, Alayna, Zane, Savannah, and Dax Schneider, Kameryn and Kaidence Snead, and Riley Wilson. He is also survived by a sister, Ginger Turner of Spearman.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Oscar, father -in-law, Thomas Reed and brother-in-law, Loyall Turner.
Services will be held at 3 PM, Monday, January 3, 2021, at the Spearman Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Hansford County Golf Club.
Ken, Papaw to his grands, would leave you with this, “Oodles of Toodles!”
