Kenneth D Borchardt

Kenneth Borchardt, 87 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Memorial services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Services are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Kenneth was born June 2, 1928 in Harlingen, TX to Reinhold and Golda Borchardt. He married Geraldine Kaker on May 19, 1950 in Clovis, NM. In his younger years, he had worked as a volunteer firefighter and auxiliary police officer until he was hired as a full time police officer for the city of Hale Center. He moved to Dumas in 1960 where he was hired as a patrol officer. He worked his way up the ranks until he eventually retired as a 1st lieutenant in 1990. He had also worked as a part time electrician's helper. His parents and a sister Opal Winona Williams preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Geraldine of the home; sons: Bobby Borchardt and wife Susan of Borger, Randy Borchardt and wife Mary of Amarillo and Gary Dale Borchardt and wife Sheri of Kingsville; brother Richard Borchardt and wife Neva of Brownfield; 7 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to Temple Baptist Church, 311 N Maddox, Dumas TX 79029
