A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10:30 in the morning at the First United Methodist Church in Keyes with Rev. Rick Forthman, pastor of the church, officiating. K.B. was born October 23, 1918 on the family homestead near Keyes to William and Stella (Heckart) Williams. He was raised into farming and after graduating from high school, he made farming and ranching his way of life. K.B. met the love of his life, Gertrude Ruth (Hanvey) and they would marry on April 9, 1937, Easter Sunday. She sadly passed away in 2003 just after spending 66 wonderful years with K.B. They raised their three children in Keyes where K.B. found time to be a part of the Lions Club, shoot trap at the local gun club, serve on the ASC Board and in 1957 he would be part of the school board when Keyes High School was built.
He enjoyed farming so much that last summer, at the young age of 100, you could find him driving the combine during wheat harvest. K.B. was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Keyes and was able to reside in his home until health issues caused him to relocate to Coldwater Manor in Stratford, TX. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his love, Gertrude, K.B. was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Vera McBride and Madge Robb; a brother: Lloyd Williams and a great granddaughter: Kylie Hiner.
K.B. is survived by his children: Bill and wife Susie of Keyes, OK, Deloris and husband Ron Hiner of Canyon, TX, and Allen Williams of Keyes, OK; grandchildren: Troy and wife Robyn Williams of Keyes, OK, Tere and wife Debra Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, Traci and husband Rick Earles of Hinton, OK, Mark and wife Mary Hiner of Canyon, TX, Tana and husband Chip Chapman of Canyon, TX, Laci and husband Mike Mullins of Blanchard, OK, Mecah and husband Warren Winters of Blair, OK, Ashlyn Williams of Chichasha, OK and Tristian Williams of Norman, OK: and 13 great grandchildren along with 4 great-great grandchildren and longtime family friend, Richard Gardner.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church 401 N. Jefferson, Keyes, OK 73947 or to the Kylie Hiner Memorial Playground Fund, c/o Southwest AMBUCS , 2201 Civic Circle Suite 418, Amarillo, TX 79109. (www.southwestambucs.org)
