Kent was born on July 28, 1962, in Dumas, TX to Mack Donald and Geraldine (Orum) Fletcher. He grew up in Sunray where he graduated high school in 1981. Kent had been a resident of Amarillo for the last 20 years where he owned CARS doing paintless dent repair.
Kent loved helping others and donating his time. He cooked for several big events and was a big supporter of Make A Wish Foundation. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #923 in Amarillo and Rockwell Baptist Church.
Kent Fletcher lived by the words, “Always look for the good in everyone.” A devoted dad, he took great pride in teaching his son to stand tall, do good, and lead with kindness. A true family man, he was the glue that kept everyone connected, always showing up in ways big and small.
Kent was deeply committed to his community, serving as Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and volunteering wherever he was needed. He believed in giving back, whether through service, support, or simply sharing a meal. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, generosity, and love, reminding us all to lift others up and always look for the good.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Don Fletcher, Doris Jean Fairchild and Ray Hamby.
Kent is survived by his son, Landry Fletcher of Amarillo, Tx; brother, Rocky Hamby and wife Diedre of Dumas, TX; sister Deana Van Beek and husband Scott of Bushland TX along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
