L.S. was born May 17, 1920 in Moore County, Texas to Luther and Amanda Jameson Brown. He attended school in Middle Well, Dumas and Amarillo graduating with the class of 1939. On June 8, 1940 he married Wanda Skaggs and she preceded him in death on December 30, 1990. They always had extra boys around that they more or less helped to raise. L.S. would tell them if they wanted to eat they had to do their share of the farm work. So they did a lot of custom combining over the years. They always had three big meals a day and friends and family were always welcome. For many years L.S. and Wanda taught the Moore County 4H kids to square dance. L.S. had probably danced enough to have waltzed across Texas.
L.S. served on the Middle Well school board and the county school board. He served on many government ASCS boards and committees. He was active at the Senior Citizens Center and was the Chamber of Commerce Farmer of the year in 2005. L.S. was a life time resident of Dumas and a member of the First Baptist Church
