Lala Montoya

Lala Montoya, 81, of Dumas, died Friday, December 29, 2006, in Dumas. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2007, in Morrison Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 3, 2007, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Antonio Albaladejo, pastor, officiating for both services. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. Montoya was born January 20, 1925, in Miera, NM to Santanita and Lorenzo Alarid. On November 29, 1941, she married Nick Montoya in Miera, NM. They moved to Stratford in 1971 and she had been a Dumas resident since 1999. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Montoya, on October 9, 1999; one son, Henry Montoya, in 1986 and three brothers, Steve Alarid, Pete Alarid and Junior Alarid. Survivors include: three sons, Pat Montoya of Pampa, TX, Pete Montoya of St Francis, KS and Herman Montoya of Dumas; two daughters, Susie Hogan and Mary Jane Gonzales both of Dumas; three brothers, Phil Alarid, Joe Alarid and George Alarid all of Denver, CO; four sisters, Lucy Grine, Carol Alarid, Rose Romero and Betty Alarid all of Denver, CO; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. The family requests memorials to a favorite charity. The family will be at 115 N Klein in Dumas.
