Lana Jean Dawson, 70, of Dumas, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. Memorial services are scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of the church, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Lana was born on January 10, 1948 in Borger, Texas to CB and Ann Morrison. Lana graduated from Borger High School in 1966 and Frank Phillips College in 1968. She had been retired for many years but enjoyed serving as the coordinator for the Moore County Meals on Wheels. Lana was the loving wife of Dale Dawson for the last 49 years. Lana's hobbies included YMCA water aerobics, sonic vanilla cokes, kindle expert, oil painting, puzzle books, collecting angels, collecting seashells, taking photographs of wildlife and nature, but most importantly, her grandchildren. She has served as a Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed many activities and retreats at her church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; father in law: Harlin "Red" Dawson; sister in law: Linda Londagin and husband Phil; brother in law: Tom Hodges.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, of the home; her daughters: Darla Parker of Oklahoma City and Anita Dawson of the home; sisters: Sandra Hilbert and husband Harvey of Borger, Judy Strickland and husband Fred of Amarillo, and Margy Hodges Amarillo; grandchildren: Mackenzie Bevins, Dawson Bevins, and Joshua Parker; mother in law: Juanita Dawson of Borger.
