Larry B. Graves, 60, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Rev. John Conley, minister of First Presbyterian Church in Dumas will be officiating. There will be a family visitation at Morrison Funeral Directors in Dumas from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 27, 2011. A private family burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Larry was born on August 13, 1950 to I.T. and Gwen Graves in Baird, Texas. He graduated from Friona High School, and later attended West Texas AM University in Canyon. Larry was outgoing and was a very popular kid in high school. He was also a talented athlete. He was employed as a meter reader with Colorado Interstate Gas Company. Larry loved the outdoors, and enjoyed working around the farm and in his yard. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Avery Graves.
Larry is survived by his parents, I.T. and Gwen Graves of Dumas one son, Matt Graves of Lubbock two brothers, Travis Graves of Smithville, Texas and Mark Graves of Dumas and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to the Avery Graves Scholarship Fund, co Darlene Bullington, 7925 Mitchum, Amarillo, TX 79121.
The family will be at 120 Bellaire in Dumas.
