LaVerne Kimbell Northcutt, 71 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. Rev. Damon Akins, pastor of First Assembly of God will be officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
LaVerne was born on September 10, 1941 in Sweetwater, Texas to T.L. and Nina Harris Kimbell. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1990. LaVerne was united in marriage to Frank Northcutt on June 7, 1989. He preceded her in death in 2001. LaVerne was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family, and she had a great love for animals. She was also an avid football fan. LaVerne will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Northcutt, her father, T.L. Kimbell, and one brother, Chester David Kimbell.
LaVerne leaves behind her mother, Nina Kimbell of Amarillo two brothers, Jerald Kimbell and wife Iretta, and Dewayne Kimbell, all of Amarillo two daughters, Sandy Gore and husband Richard of Dumas and Dorisann Wright and husband Cecil of Sheffield two sons, Frank Northcutt and wife Cathy of Longview, and Billy Northcutt and wife Andy of Pittsburg several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
