Lawrence Boyd

Lawrence Boyd, 64 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Fobbs, pastor of the church, officiating. The interment will follow in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Lawrence was born on January 8, 1954 in Amsterdam, NY to James Ronk Boyd Jr. and Doris N Sisario Boyd. Lawrence enlisted in the United States Army on July 25, 1973 and honorably served his county until July 23, 1976. He moved to Dumas in 1984 and was united in marriage to Linda Barley on February 20, 1985 in Dumas. Together they owned High Plains Vending Company for over 16 years. Lawrence loved Nascar, old cars and especially his corvettes. He also loved reading, studying the civil war, genealogy work and jigsaw puzzles. Lawrence was a postal employee at the Dumas Post Office for 18 years. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Donna L. Stewart and Erin Boyd. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; two sons: Austin L Boyd and wife Karen along with their children, William Lawrence, Anniston Kate and Tucker Jo; and Jamespaul 'JP' Boyd, all of Dumas; one daughter: Ashley R Casados and husband Chase along with their children, Caroline and Laurel, of Amarillo; brothers: James Ronk Boyd III of North Carolina, Kevin Charles Boyd of New York and Allen Robert Boyd of New York; brother in law Tommy Barley and wife Sally of Colorado. The family suggests with gratitude memorials be made to Kindred Hospice, 3232 Hobbs Rd, A, Amarillo, TX 79109.
