Leroy Morris

Leroy Morris, 83 of Dumas, passed away on September 30, 2014. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray with Justin Milam officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Leroy was born February 5, 1931 in Perryton, TX to Loney Vernon and Lois Virginia Mercer Morris. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1965 and was a City Commissioner in the 70s. On February 5, 1995, he married Melba Joyce in Sunray. Leroy was an accomplished pilot he started flying planes at the age of 18. He loved to fly. Leroy loved the outdoors and loved spending time fishing. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and will be missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents his first wife Joe Ann Morris and a brother: Mercer Morris. Leroy is survived by his wife, Melba of the home two sons: Lee Morris and wife Becky, Keith Morris and wife Cheri all of Dumas three daughters: Gale Crum and husband Lewis of Texline, TX, Ginger Porter and husband Terry of Canyon, TX, Kim Srader and husband Johnny of Fort Worth, TX three sisters: Leonor Brooks of Michigan, Elaine Rodgers of Houston, TX, Nettie Bell Tillotson a brother: Ray Morris of Tyler, TX two sisters: Verna Rose of Austin, TX, Naomi Kruger of Hico, TX twelve grandchildren and twentythree greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity. The family will be at 804 Hastings, 514 Cherry, and 110 McMurry in Dumas.
