Leslie Newell Lanners, 68, of Sunray TX, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Sunray. A private burial will be at Lane Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Leslie Newell Lanners was born on May 15, 1949 in Amarillo TX, to Daryl and Joyce Lanners of Sunray TX. He was raised in Sunray, attended Sunray Schools, and lived most of his life in Sunray and Dumas. In 1994 he moved to Austin TX, and in 2012 he retired from the H.E.B. grocery firm in Austin. He returned to Sunray in 2012. Les was a good-hearted person and had a good sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his father Daryl Lanners. He is survived by his mother Joyce Lanners of the home; brothers; Kenneth of Sunray, and Jackie of Dumas; sister Daryla Hass of Dumas TX; daughter Stacy Alvarez of Dumas; 3 grandchildren Ally, Sy, and Joe; 4 nieces and 2 nephews; and 10 great nieces and nephews.
