Lester C. Reed, Jr.

Lester C. Reed, Jr., 86 of Sunray, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 8, 2015. A Graveside Service is Scheduled for 10 o' clock in the morning on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Hartley Cemetery with David McGaughy, pastor at United Methodist Church in Sunray, officiating. A Memorial Service will follow that afternoon at 1:30 at United Methodist Church in Sunray with Keith Height officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 o' clock in the evening on Tuesday at the funeral home in Dumas. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. He was born November 14, 1928 to Lester C. Reed, Sr. and Beulah Kiker Reed in Zybach, Wheeler County, TX. On August 18, 1946 he married Nora L. Sims in Clayton, NM. Lester enjoyed antique tractors, steam locomotives, and time with his friends and family. Survivors include his wife Nora; his four children, Bob Reed of Odessa, Ivana Brooks of Houston, Art Reed of Rotan, and Alvin Reed of Ponder; 7 grandchildren Justin, Paige, Katelin, Abby, Seth, and Anna; and 5 great grandchildren Ava, Brooklynn, Harper, Honor, and Harlow; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Laney and grandson, Richard Renquist. The family suggest memorials be to Window on the Plains Museum, 1820 S. Dumas Ave., Dumas, TX 79029.
