Letha Jennings Romero, 89 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Monday from 6 pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Letha was born on May 29, 1926 to Columbus and Stella (Cain) Hendrix. She was united in marriage to Olen Jennings on December 21, 1946 and to this union four children were born, the couple later divorced. She later married Manuel Romero in 1980; he preceded her in death.
Letha loved to hunt, fish, and garden. She lived through the Depression and WWII. Letha was a loving and devoted homemaker as well as a benevolent and giving person. Most importantly, she loved the Lord. Letha will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Manuel, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother: George Hendrix; and two sisters: JoAnne Burns and Edith Tatum; and special friend: Manuel Ramirez.
Letha is survived by her daughters: Paula and Jerry Brookmole of Southmayd, TX and Kaye and Butch Turner of Dumas, TX; sons: Stephen Jennings and Mark and Kathy Jennings all of Dumas, TX; sister: Jean Tapley of Hayworth, OK; grandchildren: Tom Turner, Dianne Bergere, Stephen Keith Jennings, Jess Turner, Michelle Pearson, Dusty Peek, Kristie Bailey, Nathan Jennings, and Charlotte Hampton, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
