Lida Bohannan

Lida Bohannan, 87, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 10, at Cornerstone Church with Rev. Gerald Clark, pastor of Central Faith Baptist Church in San Angelo, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Lida Bohannan was born March 20, 1923 in Johnson County, Oklahoma to Henry and Sarah Melinda Willis. On September 15, 1940 she married Charles Bohannan in Colbert, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. She taught Sunday school for over 40 year at her church. She was Homemaker of the Year and was also very active in Meals on Wheels. Lida had been a resident of Dumas since 1950 and had been a member of Bible Baptist Church over 60 years. She was also preceded in death by her son, Clyde Bohannan, daughter, Della Fortenberry and sister, Ruby Devaney. Survivors include brothers, Marion Willis of Ada, Okla. and Ivan Lefty Willis of Davis, Okla daughterinlaw, Dorthie Getman and husband, Clarence of Dumas grandchildren, Lynda Cox and husband, Ray, Lea Smith and husband, Terry, Leslie Bohannan and wife, Julie all of Dumas, Scott Bohannan and wife, Karan of Mt. Dora, NM 10 greatgrandchildren and 3 greatgreatgrandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, August 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX. 79029. The family will be at 1553 FM2203 in Dumas.
