Lillian Mattocks -89 formerly of Dumas passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 11, 2008 at Arden Road Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Bigham, pastor of the church officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Dumas, Texas, with Rev. Ludwig Indoko, associate pastor of River of Life Fellowship officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Lillian Mattocks was born January 10, 1919 in Canton, Pennsylvania to Allen and Ethel Sweeney. On January 30, 1937 she married Ed Mattocks in East Troy, Pennsylvania. Lillian was a homemaker and loved to play the piano and study her bible. She helped in the ministry with her husband who preached for many years. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1967 before moving to Amarillo and was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Dumas.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Sweeney, sister, Evelyn Strock, grandson, Johnathan David Mattocks and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include; her husband Ed of the home; daughter, Lois Smith of Tulsa, OK; son, Elwin Mattocks of Callahan, FL; son, Rev. Lloyd Mattocks and wife, Myrlea of Meta, MO; son, Boyd Mattocks and wife, Trixie of Clinton, NC; daughter, Marilyn Nichols of Howardwick, TX; son, Rev. David Mattocks and wife, Marguerite of Port Huron, MI; daughter, Judy Guerra and husband, Ed of Amarillo; 31 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 3515 Lometa in Amarillo.
