Linda Lou Smith, 75 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023.  Memorial services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Grady Burkhalter, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Linda was born on June 9, 1948, in Levelland, TX to Leonard and Azalea (Bryant) Rhodes.  She attended Littlefield High School where she graduated from in 1966.  After graduation she completed cosmetology school in Lubbock.  She married Bruce Smith on August 17, 1968, in Littlefield, TX at the Church of Christ.  The couple moved to Dumas in 1972 where they made their home and raised their children.  Linda owned and operated Linda’s Salon and later went to work with Sheila Milligan at Unique Hair Salon.  Linda loved to visit with her friends and go to Las Vegas where she would play the penny slot machines.  She and Bruce were very active in Dumas FFA.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and also a member of First Street Church. 

Linda was preceded in death by parents; brother David “Ronnie” Rhodes, sister JoAnn Robison and nephew Will Rhodes.

Linda is survived by her husband Bruce of the home; son, Brian Smith and wife Cassondra of Wichita Falls, TX; daughter, Shelly Smith of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Cole Philley, Tyler Philley, Brooke Smith and Macie Philley; sister Sue Weaver and husband Jackie of Georgia.
